I've been living in Metro Manila for the past 7 years and it's a shame to admit that I haven't been to Quezon City Memorial Circle -- until today. I've been too busy thinking about my next out-of-town destinations and arranging trips ahead. Too anxious to get my butt off the office and on a plane. Too ambitious to plan monthly travels. Too preoccupied reading travel blogs and websites. But this day, I thought of going to the Circle. Strange. I am not the let's-go-out-now-because-i-just-feel-like-it type. So when I asked Toto to come with me, he gave me a puzzled look. Probably he was thinking, "No freaking way is this happening."
QCMC is huuuuuuuge. Too bad we weren't able to explore the area because it was raining h-a-r-d. I don't usually go to parks so when I do, I'm always amazed by them. I don't know, they have this vibe that makes you want to just relax and look around. I love observing people. The shrine, on the other hand, was majestic. It was hypnotizing. I didn't know there's actually a museum below the shrine. I'll go back to check it out.
I've always thought that QCMC was quite inaccessible because there was no underpass before and one had to cross the dangerous road just to get to the park. Well, unless you have a car. And I don't have one. So I was surprised when I saw a lot of people in QCMC today. Like any other park, the Circle is very family-friendly. Bike rentals, tiangge and food stalls are plentiful. There are also plants for sale. We rented a trike for P100/hr but didn't really enjoy it because bikes aren't allowed to get out of the "bike area", which is pretty small. Fifteen minutes into the ride and we already returned the trike. I was also planning to take some rides and to try the zip line but due to the heavy rain, these areas were closed.

QCMC activities: food trip, jog with friends, walk with your dog, play frisbee or badminton, or practice your dance number for school :) If you've been to UP Diliman during weekends or to Luneta and you like it there, you'll also love QCMC. They all have the same aura :)
